Launch of Virtual PRIME Device Platform

The Software Factory of Telecontrol STM launches a new development called Virtual PRIME Gateways Platform.

This platform simulates PRIME gateway’s operation through implementation of STG-DC web services defined by PRIME Aliance. This simulation is active in other words, it offers a quasi-real behaviour of meters (stable and unstable PLC status, spontaneus events, incremental daily billings, reaction to virtual connections or disconnections, power changes, etc).

These virtual gateways work like a physical gateway of any provider. Instead of working over hardware device (ZIV, Landis, Ormazábal, etc) are executed in a server and simulates the PRIME gateway management. The virtual gateways are managed like real gateways by a STG like Iris Plarform. A single server can host thousands of virtual gateways.

The Virtual PRIME Gateways platform have a double objetive:

  • Integrate into remote management system (like Iris) no PRIME meters, for example IEC102 meters or another protocols / technology.
  • Simulate in a real way the manage a system with hundred or thousands gateways and hundred of thousands meters. This simulation isn’t based on information stored in a data base, but in active management of gateways (virtuals in this case).

On this way with this new product Telecontrol STM is ahead launching the first commerciable product to market in order to simulate a real remote management system with thousands of devices.

Shortly will do scalability testing with Iris Remote Management Platform 0.7 on Azure cloud environment with hundreds of thousands of PRIME meters.
