Demo Iris 0.7 Deployment in Azure: more of half million meters

It has realized recently the deployment of Iris 0.7 Beta version in cloud computing platform Microsoft's Azure for an important national electric company.

Iris 0.7 is the new version of Iris which incorporate few important features mainly management and ability to manage thousands devices in a scalable environment. It is scheduled to launch the final release by mid-May.

Virtual Device Platform has been developed by Telecontrol STM in order to test the scalability of the system and integrate IEC102 meters. Thanks to that, it has succeeded a deployment with 650 gateways and 650.000 meters working with more requirements of performance than real gateways.

The results have been satisfactory:

  • It has created an environment with 100 users.
  • Daily billing without bottleneck.
  • Operations through user interface are smooth and quick.
  • Manual, group and automatic orders are managed with a very good performance.

 

On this way, Iris has established itself as an environment flexible enough to meet the needs of distribution small and medium sized and large (several million devices) companies.
