New release of Iris v0.6

New version of Iris Software Platform has been released recently, system manager for PRIME devices.

This new release is a significant improvment in the quality and maturity of the product. Many new features in functionality and scalability of the system has been incorporated and the user interface has been improved thanks to feedback of Iris proyects already deployed.

Very briefly, here are describe some of the new improvements in this new release:

  • Management of events: the platform collects events coming from meters and gateways; the are shown in the user interface with their description in the languages currently supported by Iris. An user can manually request events for meters and gateways.
  • Firmware updates: very user friendly interface to upload firmware versions (both PRIME and DLMS) in order to sent them to devices. With this feaure, Iris is ready for a massive upload of firmware versions in field.
  • Maximum power changes log: every change in max power in a meter, Iris collects this information in its log so that and user can keep track all power changes for a meter during its life.
  • Improvements in hardware scalability of the system: to support a deployment with hundreds of thousands ofdevices, the platform can be distributed among a web farm to scale and give enough redundancy to the system to support hardware failures and keep the system up & running 24x7.
  • New stats describing the number of billings retrieved by Iris (current day, last two day an last seven days).
  • All prime requests Sxx are now available from user interface, both for gateways and meter ones.
  • More and better compatibility with most relevant concentrators (gateways) avalaible: ZIV (new firmware version 811), Landis, Ormazábal, etc.
  • Significant improvements in usability of the user interface, such as the list of "favourites" devices to ease when an user is woking on a set o meters or gateways.
  • Basic and advanced user profile: and user with a basic profile has available a dash board with specific wizards to most common operations (max power changes, remote disconnection and re-connecion o metes and instantaneous values).
  • Log of meter "couplings": Iris stores in its database all gateway changes for a meter (this happens in utilities with a high density of meters and PLC signals can be inducted from a transformation centre to another).
  • New reports; between them stands out "meters with wrong behaviour", which reports about meters with missing billings values, affected by a coupling behaviour or with bad PLC coverage.
  • With integration tasks, Iris can be customized to any format a customer could need to export daily and monthly billings.
  • All data grids, can be now exported to excel format with just a click.

This new Iris version has been already deployed to utilities Electrodistribución (Ciudad Real, up to 6k meters) and Grupo Cuerva (Granada, up to 45k meters).

With Iris 0.6, Iris platform get consolidate as the metering system more flexible and capable of managing data concentrators from most relevant vendors.

In this new version, Iris user interface remains extremely easy and intuitive as it can be seen in the following pictures taken from the utility Electrodistribución S.A.:
