Recently we have started up the load profiles in a referenced customer. The obtaining of these values, which are required since June 1, multiplies by 24 the habitual amount of measures from one deploy of smart meters.

So, it represents a challenge for the gateways but mainly for its telemanagement / MDM. For that, this system must have the tools of optimization, performance, scalability and smart management of devices to maximize the percentage of load profiles of each day, week and month.

Iris 0.7.3 is ready to the management, obtaining and maximization of the load profiles number in every kind of deploy (small, medium and big).

For a medium utility (about 15k meters), the system has to process 360000 load profiles every day, in the best of cases. This imply an meaningful amount.

We did many scalability tests with about 1 million of meters in our Azure demo deployment with 800 virtual gateways. We have demonstrated the good performance of the system through the obtaining the great massive charges of load profiles in time and it also handles their export and validation to a third system in less than an hour.

Since 1 June 2014, the customers can request the new tariff of hourly billing and, with this feature by Iris, our customer is preparing to the new legal requirements.

An extra feature of telemanagement system is that can evolve at the same time than legal changes. Iris is developed, maintained and evolved into a work scheme of continous improvement, which it allows us to have a product without competition in the market and with excellent levels of quality and our customers' satisfaction. Thus, customers who purchase IRIS in order to save money in operation costs and manage their deployment of meters and gateways PRIME devices are obtaining the current funcionality of the system and all improvements that we will do in the future as well (new devices capabilities, changes in laws, etc)
